Cicatrize

Friday, July 18, 2014

Watching Ginny Au present at the Erich Mcvey Workshop was one of the most beautiful things I had witnessed in a really long time. I was incredibly moved, as she spoke from her heart and directly into mine. Tears running down my face, feeling so inspired to photograph, not just beauty, but feelings, purpose and emotion. I am going to dive into more detail about the workshop and all of our experiences there, the amazing people we connected with and how it changed our business, but first, THIS.

This is our first post of many.
Cicatrize-an ancient word that means: to find healing by the process of forming scars.

The Whim-Shop

Wednesday, August 28, 2013

Where to begin? One decision, right or wrong, leads us to our next. At times it trips us up, makes us stumble and fall on our faces(more times than not) and others, gently guides us, effortlessly, like its meant to be. No matter the decisions we make, the path that God has provided is always there. At times, we knowingly refuse the path He has laid before us or sometimes stray without even knowing. The beauty is, He always knows. He knows the mistakes we will make before we make them and He still has a plan for us. How faithful is that?!!:)

I do not know what God's plan is for me, but I know, I trust IN it. When doors are opened and closed, I know that I am being guided with a purpose. Over 2 years ago, I started to feel convicted about finding MY way to serve. I was on a journey of still trying to find out who I was, what gifts I have to offer and how I can use them to serve others. Over these past two years, the path has been revealed more and more. Countless opportunities and challenges have lead me to where I am. I still don't know exactly what God has planned for me, but I know that I just have to follow. It is he one thing He asks of me, every day.

"Follow me, I will lead you."

With that being said, I am thrilled to walk through another open door. I am excited and scared to be pushed out of my comfort zone and into a place where God needs me to be and grow, serving others. It definitely isn't the typical way of serving, but I know that it's where I need to be. He sure does have a way of making us work the path before giving clarity. But I am sure of this path. If I follow Him, I can not fear where He leads me.

Enter doorway to the Whim-Shop. A place to mentor others, photographers and other creatives alike. In an industry that challenges our faith and can sometimes lead us to a place of selfishness, I want to give encouragement, love and community. An act that I know will create more peace in our hearts and the willingness to reach out to others, beyond any 4 walls. I am beyond excited to begin this journey.

Will you join me? Save the date!! The first one will be Saturday, October 5th from 8am-12pm in our home. Our first session we will be discussing branding yourself for success and we will have a mini photo session, so bring your cameras! :)

Registration for the event begins this Friday at 9:00am. There are only 12 seats for this one, to ensure everyone gets individual attention. Below is the registration link at Eventbrite.
